Say “hi” to Lionel! Lionel is an exceptional athlete with a great attitude every time you see him. He has been at triathlon for two years now, starting with Smiley Sprint as his first triathlon. You better look quickly, because he is super fast and as a goal to qualify for Boston. His best racing tip is, ” Start slow and pace smart, go for negative splits if you can. Athlete of the Month – June 2021 – Amanda Whicker

Say “hi” to Amanda!
Meet our team mate, Amanda! Amanda has been doing triathlons for 6 years now, and is still going strong. Her first triathlon was Rambling Rose in Winston in 2016, she says that race got her hooked to do more races. She enjoys training, especially with team mates, when it comes to areas she works most on, she says running, since it isn’t her favorite. Her mantra is, “You are enough”, and her advice to anyone racing, is to do your race at your pace, ” your race, your pace”. Great advice Amanda!

Say “hi” to Jason!
Meet our team mate, Jason! Jason is not new to triathlon, he has been participating in races for 30+years! His first triathlon was in 1989, and was the Friends of the Youth Biathlon, Guilford College. While training and working out Jason says he listens to “90’s rock”, who doesn’t like to rock out to some Pearl Jam! His favorite mantra is, “Some days you eat bear, some days the bear eats you.” Well said Jason!

Athlete of the Month – April 2021 – Emer Colleran

Say “hi” to Emer!
Meet our team mate, Emer! Meet Emer! When you see Emer you will see her smiling and encouraging her teammates. She is a critical care nurse, and through this pandemic has been a great resource to the team. Thank you for all you do out here Emer!! She completed her first triathlon at the High Point Spring in 2019, and has a bucket list of NC 70.3 in her future. Her mantra is “ I can do this”, which is great for us all to say to ourselves. She is inspired by her brother, Eoin, and her sister in law, Heather, and her nieces and nephew. Can’t wait to see you out there training and racing Emer!
