Athlete of the Month – June 2018 – Paula Jones

Meet Paula Jones! See that smile in the pic, that is Paula. Behind that smile is determination. She rocked her first 70.3 in Chattanooga this past May with other TTT members. Paula has been doing triathlon for three years now and keeps working hard to meet her goals. You may see her with Ralph Crook, her hubby who trains with her. Paula says she saw a 75 year old lady on the Chattanooga course and thought, “It does not matter your size or age, if you set your mind to something, you can do it!”
Wise words we can all follow.

Athlete of the Month – May 2018 – Jason Nance

Meet Jason Nance! He is somewhat new to the sport of triathlon, and brings great energy and eagerness to the sport. He did his first sprint tri at the Thomasville Tri in 2016. His best traithlon tip is:” Have fun at it, regardless of if you are 1 year into the sport or 10 years into it. Find a good group of people or some folks to train with who will push you past your current limits.” We are proud to have Jason represent the TTT at the USAT Duathlon National Championship in Greenville, SC. Congrats Jason!

Athlete of the Month – Feb 2018 – Kim Siebold

Meet Kim, she is energetic, always smiling and practically a pro at triathlon. She’s been at it for 15 years now and isn’t slowing down at all. We just love her best racing tip,
” Keep in mind that training and racing is a privilege and an honor to do. Keep it in perspective. We are lucky to be healthy enough and have the chance to do this sport. It is JUST only a race and whatever your finish time is, be proud of your accomplishments, no matter what level you are.
Oh, and you also get out of it what you put into it… I’m just saying!!” Great words Kim and good luck on Chattanooga 70.3 in the spring.

Meet Dave! He is not only an awesome road cyclist, but he is usually out mountain biking as well. He participates in many mountain bike races, usually with a podium finish. Dave has been active in tri’s for over three years and also supports his tri-active wife, Neala. Oh yeah, he’s Neala’s hubbie! His best racing tip is, “in the race when it hurts, that is when I push harder (to a point) because that is where others will slow down
(usually up hills and just over the top of a hill, etc.)”.
