Meet Donna Botterbusch!
When you read about Donna’s story of how she came to triathlon, you will be amazed and impressed. When asked how many years she has done triathlon, Donna answered, ” Competed three years, very late-bloomer, started in 2016 after cancer surgery at age 63. Never an athlete prior since I used to be size 22!”. She says she owes it to her daughter, who asked her to try a sprint with her, after placing 2nd in her AG, she was hooked!

Athlete of the Month – Nov 2018 – Keith Gardiner

Meet Keith Gardiner or AKA “Chef G”!
Keith, a chef instructor, has been doing triathlons for two years now. You may have seen him at the “Tour De Chef” bike ride, which he organizes to raise money for the local community. Whenever training with Keith, he is usually with a smile on with a great attitude of getting it done!
Keith has his eyes on the prize for next year, with two 70.3 races next year, Eagleman 70.3 and IM NC 70.3, and he is planning on doing the full Trivium series again. Way to motivate and be motivated by Keith!

Athlete of the Month – Oct 2018 – Heather Colleran

Meet Heather Colleran!
Heather is a mom of three, and a vet at triathlon. She is amazing at balancing training, racing, being a professor, wife and mom. She did her first race in 2001, in Massachusetts. My husband and my kids are my inspiration. Heather says, “after a few too many years hiatus from the sport, I was finally able to start racing again two years ago and returned to the half ironman distance in 2017.

Meet Derrick Heard!
Derrick is in his second year of doing triathlons. He has a big background in running, from being a coach to running Boston. When asked, “what is your favorite triathlon”? Derrick’s reply is, ” is there one without pain and suffering?” If you find one, please share with Derrick (and the rest of us!). Athlete of the Month – Aug 2018 – Louisa Raisbeck

Meet Louisa Raisbeck!
Louisa is an amazing and accomplished triathlete. She earned her spot at the 70.3 World Championships in 2006 and 2010! When you meet her you see a strong, determined athlete, but you also see humility, kindness and graciousness. She is a professor at UNCG, and has been doing triathlon for 12 years now, with a short break to
have her two adorable girls.
Louisa states, “My husband and my children inspire me every day. My husband gives me unconditional support and encouragement. My children show me nothing is impossible, and we can all achieve if we have no fear and don’t make something impossible before we try it. “

Athlete of the Month – July 2018 – Jon Graham

Meet Jon Graham! Jon is new to the sport of triathlon having done his first sprint in 2017, and has now successfully finished a 70.3 in Chattanooga this past spring. Jon has a great energy and spirit when you speak with him and train with him. His friendly demeanor makes him a great fit for the ttt. It is hard to believe he is new to the sport the was he naturally rides, runs and swims. He shared his wife (an avid swimmer herself) is a great inspiration to him as well.
