Hammer Nutrition Gels every 20 miles on the bike and 45 minutes on the run with a GU French Toast Gel saved for the last 3 miles. Honey Stinger Waffle for back up nutrition – I keep this on my bike. Hammer Nutrition: Endurolytes – every hour on the hour!

Key Workout: Bricks!!! You’ve got to do them!
Best Triathlon training tip: Sleep 8 hours a night and respect your rest day!

Triathlon literature: When I’m lifting/strength training I listen to books about Triathlon, podcasts and other inspirational literature. Triathlon for Beginners by Dan Golding was the first book I ever listened to and has AMAZING tips for any beginner. It kept me from making some detrimental errors. When I think I can’t do it anymore or training gets lonely and hard – I listen to You Are IronMan by Jacques Steinberg. Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin is by far one of my favorites.

Who inspires you: Ian and Owen Layton. They are twin brothers. Ian has Cerebral Palsy and together we run races with Ainsley’s Angels of America. Owen never misses a race and can crush some hurdles! The obstacles both of these boys have overcome in their 7 years of life PUSHES and INSPIRES me to be the best athlete I can be! They are waiting for me at almost every finish line with a smile and a fist bump.

Future goal or bucket list race: My next BIG GOAL is to complete IronMan Chattanooga 140.6 in 2021. My lifetime bucket list race is to one day race in Kona at the IM World Championships.
