Years doing triathlon? 15
First Triathlon? Bailey’s Sprint in 1991.
Your favorite triathlon? IMOO. Ironman Madison, WI 2011. It was the perfect day. The perfect race. And on the 10th Anniversary of 9-11.

Meal the night before race? Usually chicken and veggies/salad.
Pre-Race Meal? Always eggs and a banana.
Race Nutrition? Depends on the race.

Favorite motivational training song? It’s actually a video. Welcome to the Grind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxOFvpplyAM

Favorite mantra? Find a way.

Key Workout? Sprint: 40 mile bike ride+ 7 mile run for a HIM, 100 mile bike+ 6 mile run for IM.

Best Triathlon training or racing tip? Keep in mind that training and racing is a privilege and an honor to do. Keep it in perspective. We are lucky to be healthy enough and have the chance to do this sport. It is JUST only a race and whatever your finish time is, be proud of your accomplishments, no matter what level you are.

Oh, and you also get out of it what you put into it… I’m just saying!

Triathlon literature or other sources of information? TTT, Joel Friel, Endurance Nation and friends.

Who inspires you? Rick and Dick Hoyt.

Future goal? Well Kona of course, but since that probably isn’t going to happen, I have two more IM on my mind. Hopefully one will be with my daughter!
