Years doing triathlon? Off and on for 10 years. I started doing them as a part of Team in Training.
First Triathlon? Latta Plantation in 2006
Your favorite triathlon? Rev 3 Williamsburg
Meal the night before race? Steak, broccoli, and a glass of red wine
Pre-Race Meal? Eggs and bacon
Race Nutrition? Chia bars, BCAA’s, water. I’ll add in some base salts for long distances or warmer weather.
Favorite motivational training song? Anything with a good upbeat tune.
Favorite mantra? Believe! and I got this!
Key Workout? I think swimming has been key. It allows me to train while also allowing my muscles to recover.
Best Triathlon training or racing tip? Trust your training and race what you trained. Don’t worry what everyone else is doing.
Triathlon literature or other sources of information?
Who inspires you? My family because I want to inspire them. My patients because I want to set an example for them. And finally my coach, Simon Cloutier, because he challenges me, kicks my ass in gear when I need it and never doubted my ability even when I have doubted myself.
Future goal? To redeem myself and actually finish a half-ironman in the cut off time. I missed my first and only at Augusta this year by 3 mins 38 secs.
