Years doing triathlon? 5
First Triathlon? Rambling Rose Winston Salem – 2011 as the biker for a relay team with my oldest sister and my daughter Priscilla. I had a bike I purchased 3 weeks before from K Mart and it was a mountain bike. I walked that bike over 50% of the course that day.
Your favorite triathlon? Beach 2 Battleship Half

Meal the night before race? That has changed throughout the years. Now my meal the night before the race would be a meat and 2 vegetables. The meat would be topped with sour cream or a homemade mayo and avocado mix and the vegetables would be cooked with organic butter.
Pre-Race Meal? BACON, 2 eggs scrambled, and Bulletproof coffee
Race Nutrition? Xtend BCAAs in 2 water bottles and the other two plain water. Chia bars and perfect bars one every hour on the bike and one every 3 miles or so on the run.

Favorite motivational training song? Loose Yourself by Eminem (gives me the chills every time I hear it)

Favorite mantra? Your Race, Your Pace!

Key Workout? All of them. Swim, Bike, Run (and strength training 2-3 times a week so I don’t get in trouble with my personal trainer)

Best Triathlon training or racing tip? For me I am there to work hard, but also to enjoy the moment. My biggest tip would be to not miss out on enjoying the moments during each race.

Triathlon literature or other sources of information? I used a Basic Beginner program online for my first HIM and then I used the plan on the TTT site for my second. I have Don & Melanie Fink’s book – Ironfit Triathlon Training for Women, but I haven’t spent much time with it yet.

Who inspires you? My Mom and my daughters
