Fresh berry french toast

Ingredients

  • 8 slices day old french bread
  • 3/4 cup egg beaters
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • butter to sauté with

For topping:

  • 2 cups assorted fresh berries
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 orange, juice and zest
  • Powdered sugar and whipped cream, optional

Method

  • Dip french bread slices in the egg mixture and let soak slightly
  • Sauté bread on butter until golden brown on both sides
  • Arrange on a plate, top with berries and garnish with powdered sugar and whipped cream, if desired.
