Hi Team,
Hope you all are enjoying your summer adventures. It is going to be a fun few weeks with two races and two events coming up!
The next team race is High Point Sprint Tri ,August 14th. This is special to our team because our very own tri couple, Jeremy and Valarie Yeomans will be presenting an award to the top first-time male and female triathletes in honor of their brother, Ryan, whose life was cut too short by a drunk driver in 2015. Ryan had intended to complete his first triathlon with us in 2016 and we are proud to help the Yeomans support his memory by encouraging others to achieve their goals. It is special to our team and the community.
Tri for Hospice will be September 4th at Ridgewood swim club in Summerfield. 100% of your race entry fee will go directly to AuthoraCare Hospice (formally HPCG). Our very own Coach Karen Buxton is the race director and creator of this sprint tri.
Both races are wonderful for first timers to advanced triathletes. We will have the team tent out and many team mates to cheer and support each other.
We also have two great events this month:
A Transition Clinic with team social will be August 8th at 4pm, coach Matt Clancy will guide us in how to be better, faster and more purposeful in our transitions. Races can be one in transition! We will then have a team social in the parking lot at Village Beverage after the clinic. Sign up on FB event page so we know you are coming!
Ridgewood Tri for Hospice racecourse preview. August 22nd, 8:00am. This event will start in the pool with guided instruction from Coach Karen Buxton, with a bike course preview. A donation of $10 is your registration, see our FB event for more details.
Many things to do this month whether racing, volunteering, cheering or being social. Hope to see you all out and about soon!
Stay healthy and happy!
